OUR STORY
Electric Jiu Jitsu opened its doors in the summer of 2012 by multiple times Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and ADCC World Champion black belt Joao Assis. Initially, the school opened to host the Checkmat BJJ competition team’s practice for upcoming tournaments and private lessons. But it didn’t take long to start operating as a school and have classes available to the general public and become a Self Defense and Jiu Jitsu authority and reference to this day.​
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to teach everyday valuable lessons and deliver results based on our students goals.
Every student should leave practice passionate and intrigued by Jiu Jitsu, its forms, flexibility, details and philosophy.
SCHOOL OPERATIONS
Electric ​Jiu Jitsu is open for operations Monday through Sunday. We open our doors 30 minutes prior to the beginning of each class and close our doors typically 30 minutes after the last class of the day. Check the schedule for hours.
ARRIVING AT THE SCHOOL
We ask students to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class starts to ensure punctuality.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The school conforms with most standard holiday calendars. The school will communicate via newsletter informing students about school functions, upcoming schedule changes or days off.

GROUP CHAT THREAD
Staff is always available through phone or email, but we highly suggest our students join our Electric Jiu Jitsu group chat thread on the Telegram app. This thread is user friendly, has endless capabilities and its simplicity makes it the perfect app for team communication.​
BILLING POLICIES
We charge memberships on a month to month basis, no contracts. Membership dues will be drafted monthly, on the same date that membership began. Please contact staff if you have any questions regarding your membership dates.

WITHDRAWING POLICIES
To withdraw for any reason, simply make contact with staff (via phone or e-mail) and request the membership to be terminated. Please make sure you do so prior to your next billing date.

FAMILY DISCOUNT
For those who are eligible for the family plan membership discount and one of the family members ceases to be a member, the remaining membership will be adjusted accordingly, to the regular membership rate.
